Hey, ladies!: Is lingerie an acceptable Valentine's Day gift?

Our favorite February holiday is just around the corner. That's right…. Superbowl Sunday! And then the time will come to smother our loved ones with affection on Valentine's Day. All the chocolate and candy and flowers and cheap jewelry… it's getting a little old. It's tough to get creative on such a Hallmark holiday. Which begs the question: is it generally looked down upon for a dude to get his girlfriend/wife/hostage sexy lingerie for Valentine's Day? The answer probably varies, and may depend on how long you've been in the relationship. Thing is, as a guy, it seems like much of the fun of lingerie comes from the "surprise" factor. Picking it out would almost be like picking out your own twist ending to an M.Night Shyamalan film (maybe that's really not such a bad idea).
