An avid horseback rider, Kate showed for the American Paint Horse Association and competed on a national level, accumulating five world titles. She was ranked third in the nation before pursuing a modeling career. Upton is a graduate of Indiana University. In 2011, she appeared in the popular swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and has been featured as the ad girl for Guess? clothing. In April 2011, she was famously filmed doing "the Dougie" at a L.A. Clippers basketball game.
